MX-5 ohhh yess…

The Miata MX-5 takes me back to high school when my dean had a NA then got a NB before I graduated. I’ve always thought it would be fun to have one. Finally bought the right one… for the right price.

1990 NA6 Miata Mx-5 1.6 Liter dohc engine, 5spd, VLSD

Current mods: RSR catback exhaust, highflow cat, Tokico Blues, lowering springs, Falken Hanabi wheels w/ 205/50/15 Nitto Neogen tires. Racing Beat Type 2 front bumper, Racing Beat side skirts. VIS racing carbon fiber hood. Turn signal intake vents. Sparco hood pins.

The guy I got it from said it was turbo at one point before he got it. With visual inspections and a found Oil leak from oil return port it shows it indeed was turboed. The car started up with a jump but required a new battery. Sounded healthy. Hopefully driving around with that oil return hole open didn’t damage the engine. We will see after I plug it.

On the way to Hickory after stopping at Dennys in Morganton for dinner.

The beginning

Working up 321

Had to fight for this portal. Acted like I drove off. Parked in an apartment complex around the corner and walked back. Captured it when he was fielding.

Continued to follow.

Got out and walked to bring the hurt.

Two more unique captures till gold!

Got the gold and leveled up!

The perks of leveling up!

Apparently he got some fielding in to reach a gold too!

Before we left Grace wanted to take some more fields down.

Far drive home.

Sure why not? Attacked Rutherfordton on the way home.

Started the outing at 2000 item cap.

Was a successful outing! I reached my 48 Unique portal capture goal. Grace got some AP from taking down the fields and deploying. Getting closer to L8! We both got home with very low resonators and pretty much no XMP bursters.

Now the quest for Level 12!

Some one came and Ada’d the couch portal the next day. Got Grace to Jarvis it back which allows me to deploy another 8.

Daily enjoyment

Well, I’m not going to lie. Just about every morning after my shower I brew a cup of coffee with my Keurig. I drive towards Landrum or Tryon taking my time. No rush to go anywhere. Although there are some days I like to drive spiritedly there. The view of the mountains over yonder is always refreshing. I became fond of Snapchat sending snaps to a select few people that I like to keep contact with. They return snaps back every so often as well. I’ve been Instagraming alot. It’s like a picture blog for me. Easy and quick uploads. I’d like to get my Canon 7D out more often but it feels like its to big to lug around to take snap shots or do some street photography. I’m thinking of getting a Canon SL1 so I can use one of my lenses with. Would be light. We’ll see…
